Reviews and Ratings
I was really pleased with my stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, although they needed a bit of repair. The food was top-notch, so much so that I decided to extend my stay. However, my room wasn't ready upon early arrival as expected.
The hotel is located in a deer park with a grand history, offering a cozy and comfortable stay with lovely service. However, the rooms needed better cleaning and cooling. The dining experience was pleasant, but slightly understaffed. Overall, a memorable stay with stunning surroundings.
My stay at the hotel was simply delightful! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff, especially Lal Kwandele, the restaurant manager, was quietly courteous and made my experience exceptional. The amenities were well-equipped, and I loved the selection of tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits available for a cozy evening. The location was in a very nice area, with gorgeous views of deer and a lovely stream nearby. Although the service was friendly, a bit more training could elevate it to another level. Overall, a great choice for a peaceful getaway.
The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms with a large kettle and decent-sized cups for a comfortable stay. However, the room was really cold during my visit. The location is beautiful, especially with deer wandering around, though the afternoon tea was a bit disappointing. The service was friendly and informative, making my stay pleasant. The dining experience was good, even though there were minor organizational issues.
The hotel offers rooms that are out of this world, overlooking the park, with a touch of vintage charm that adds character. However, the rooms are not made up daily, which can be a minor inconvenience. The service is not very accommodating and seems inexperienced and unwell. The location is in South West Durham's beautiful countryside with captivating views of a deer park. The dining could have more variety, but the breakfast is generous and delicious.
The hotel offers a spacious room with all necessary amenities for a disabled person, though it may need updating soon. It was comfortable with ample wardrobe space, but the bathroom suite appeared dated. The service was outstanding, and the staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The location, filled with tame fallow deer, was a unique and delightful experience, especially being close to Spennymoor. The dining experience was top-class, with excellent choices and exemplary service. Overall, it was an excellent break with good food.
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel located within the Deer park. The rooms were very spacious, fitting with the hall's style, and overall clean and comfortable with fluffy towels, though the bathroom decor appeared a little tired. The service was top-notch with a friendly receptionist and attentive staff. The location was delightful, offering a lovely walk by the stream with stunning views of the local church. The dining experience left much to be desired, especially for the price, lacking vegetarian options and variety. The facilities were satisfactory, although there were some areas that could be improved.
The hotel offers a comfortable stay in a charming location surrounded by nature, providing a memorable experience. While the service was a mix of excellence and ordinary, the dining options were inconsistent. The rooms require a thorough cleaning but offer a spacious layout suitable for families.
My stay at the hotel was enjoyable overall. The room could have been a bit cleaner, and the flush was a bit tricky, but it was a great size with everything I needed for a few nights away. The room was comfortable and quiet, although slightly outdated. The service was mixed, with some staff being lovely and friendly, but others coming across as rude and obnoxious. The location in the peaceful deer park was beautiful, providing a fabulous country setting close to Durham. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with some delays in service but delicious food. The facilities were decent overall.
The hotel is in a fantastic location ideal for visiting Durham. The rooms are extremely comfortable and are a generous size with good tea/coffee making facilities which are replenished daily. The service was amazingly helpful and friendly. The dining completed the very high standards that this Hotel provides. The facilities are top-notch, ensuring a great stay overall.
